This EP is a bit different. Not only is it my first release that's mostly electronic (apart from a few guitar parts), it's also the first one where I focused on having as much fun as possible creating the songs.
I've had this thing for some years now, where I would dismiss a lot of ideas because I felt they weren't "serious" or complex enough - despite actually liking them. There were also some other things about how I handled songwriting, recording and producing before that I got seriously fed up with. Everything started to feel more like a chore.
So after being released from hospital this year in May (after a short but very unpleasant incident), I had the idea to create a short EP that would be inspired by the preceding events - and I wanted to focus on enjoying its creation as much as possible. And having become more and more interested in hardware-synthesizers during the past year, I decided to primarily focus on making use of my synths. So I just sat down a couple of times and jammed for a bit - and if I liked what I had come up with, it would become a part of this EP, no matter how minimalistic and simple it was.
I did add a few things to the tracks later, but most elements are whatever I came up with during my jam sessions.
The result are these five little songs.
